University of Jos Allocates Dedicated Laboratory Facility to TCoEFS
The University of Jos has allocated a dedicated laboratory building to TCoEFS, strengthening research capacity, postgraduate training, and institutional alignment with TETFund performance standards.

In July 2025, the University of Jos formally allocated a dedicated building to serve as the permanent laboratory facility of the TETFund Centre of Excellence in Food Security (TCoEFS).
The allocation represents a significant infrastructure milestone and reinforces the University’s commitment to strengthening research, innovation, and postgraduate training in sustainable food systems.
Following the allocation, the Vice-Chancellor and members of University Management conducted an inspection of the facility alongside the Director of TCoEFS to assess structural suitability, laboratory configuration, utility requirements, and safety considerations.
The facility will support:
Advanced laboratory-based research
Postgraduate supervision across PGD, MSc, and PhD programmes
Multidisciplinary food systems innovation
Expanded national and international research collaboration
Plans are underway for phased operationalization of the laboratory, including furnishing, installation of research equipment, and necessary compliance upgrades.
