The birds were successfully marketed and sold, demonstrating both production efficiency and strong market demand. The broiler project served multiple strategic objectives: Demonstrating enterprise-based agricultural sustainability Providing hands-on practical learning exposure Strengthening institutional confidence in scalable agribusiness models Generating revenue for reinvestment into research and training activities The success of the project confirms the viability of integrating research, training, and commercial production within a Centre of Excellence framework. It also reinforces TCoEFS’s broader mandate to promote food security through innovation-driven, market-responsive agricultural systems. Building on this success, the Centre is expanding its enterprise portfolio to include greenhouse-based bell pepper cultivation and other climate-smart agricultural initiatives. TCoEFS remains committed to transforming knowledge into production, revenue, and sustainable food systems.
